November!

So, it’s just about November…my birth month, my daughter’s birth month, start of holidays, and general craziness!

We’ve been planning out the month and such, which has me a bit overwhelmed, but after a nice long list was created, I’m feeling a lot better!  So here I am 🙂

First things first!  November challenge is planks!  Comment or email me to be added to the group, or play along on your own!

More tomorrow…my bed time has passed 🙂

Post Illness Surge

It’s Sunday night again!  I don’t mean to only post weekly.  I intend to post daily!  I also don’t always have much going on, and sometimes all that is going on is sickness and day to day life.  I don’t want to sit here and bore you!

I was sick all week, so I didn’t do too much.  I did think a lot about what I wanted to be doing with nutrition and exercise though.  It’s funny how when you can’t manage to eat (everything felt like sand in my throat) or workout (really needed the sleep more), you come out ready to go!  I have renewed motivation, a new plan, and I’m excited to get back.

I do now have a sinus headache (since Friday…yay!!) but I’ve been able to get some of my plan underway.  With adjustment!  I’m trying to do the 21 Day Fix workouts in addition to my training for a 10K with Moms In Training on May 4th.  That means double workouts some days, but I’m trying not to stress if I don’t make both.  This weekend, I’ve only done my runs…a combo of baby waking and head hurting.  So hopefully that will work better soon.  I also am back on the 21 Day Fix meal plan.  I saw great results with my first round and have been seeing my challenge group have great results as well.  So I know it works and can get me where I want to be.

What my group has been eating!

I’m trying the workouts in thoughts of getting P90X3 to work in with my 10K training.  I figure they are all 30 minute workouts, so I can see how many days a week I actually fit it in before ordering (though I think it’s postponing the inevitable as I’ll likely order it after!).  It seems like what I’m in the mood for right now.  And of course, I never mind more choices for my workouts!

I’ll also be finishing out March’s arm challenge and moving on to April’s ab challenge.  Are you up for the challenge?

Oh, and before I forget…last days to take advantage of the March challenge pack sales!  Pump and Combat equipment is also on sale!  More weights for that barbell?  A barbell for a buddy?

Warrior Mode!

In addition to my December Challenge, I’ve started doing Les Mills Combat.  It is so much fun!  Let me tell you a story…

I started working out at a gym.  I took a lot of classes, including some great kickboxing classes.  They were mostly combination based, not a lot of drills, some used light bags and all were fun.  When I left the gym to work out at home (like now, I had little time to workout and getting to/from the gym was time I could use elsewhere), I found Turbo Jam.  It was also a lot of fun, but different.  The classes had been more fight based and more technical – not that form wasn’t important in both, but the moves were more traditional.  Turbo Jam was dancey and happy.  I looked forward to my workouts and found something I loved.

Now years later, I am working out at home mostly again.  I moved on to Turbo Fire, became a certified Turbo Kick instructor and still adore the workouts.  But!  I tried Combat.  It’s terrific.  So much like the workouts I used to do.  They make me feel strong and like I can take on anything.  I still haven’t made it through all of the workouts (just finished week 2 – I’m doing the Ultimate Warrior schedule) but it’s been fun.  I’m so glad I tried it.  You never know how much you’ll like something until you try!  I didn’t even realize how much I missed my old workouts.

There is still plenty of room for my Turbo workouts.  They are different, not better or worse.  Sometimes, I have too many fun workouts to choose from!  This is one of the reasons I like to use a schedule – without one I wouldn’t be able to choose between all of my favorites!

So…do you want to see a workout by workout review of Combat like I did for T25?  Let me know!
