I’ve been playing with my schedule and when I’m tackling things lately, trying to do things I need the most energy for when I actually have it. It’s been a bit of a challenge with the lack of energy I’m having, but I keep playing around! One thing that has majorly suffered has been the blog. I’ve been trying to prepare more behind the scenes on the weekends to make it easier during the week, but this week didn’t work out so well.
I’m aware, and I’m trying. And I’m telling you I will do better.
So here is a start…4 motivation videos originally recorded on Periscope. Scoping has been an easy to do to tackle, as I love to spread motivation. It’s then taking that and getting it on youtube, etc, that has been more difficult! (Same goes for the Hammer and Chisel workouts!). So here are the last 4, and I will do better at posting these.
So, I had technical difficulties yesterday and didn’t get to post my morning motivation. Here it is for your viewing pleasure, plus today’s…today is me, real deal. How am I dealing with eating in this early stage of pregnancy where I hate food, am always hungry, and nauseous too.
I’m mixing up two cans to keep in the fridge for lunches…trying to keep it easy and semi-healthy!
You may or may not have noticed that I didn’t post Hammer and Chisel results. Well, I finished the workout part. The food? Not so much!
My second workout buddy was along for most of the ride!
As with my first, I’m nauseous and food averse…existing mostly on carbs. So my results weren’t great. But I loved the workouts and look forward to using it all out after the baby!
We’re super excited to become a family of four in August!!
(This is also the main reason I haven’t finished the Hammer and Chisel workout series! I promise it’s all coming!)
This break in updates has been caused by a baby sleeping slightly better! I had been doing my limited updating while the cutie was sleeping on me. I still spend time with a sleeping baby but not as much which means I’m getting slightly more sleep. Yesterday, I got about 6 broken up hours!
I have been surprisingly able to function on the teeny bits of sleep I’ve been getting. I completely think it’s the Shakeology daily! I have so much more energy and just feel better. And the noise of the Magic Bullet is soothing to little ears. I’m getting awesome at one handed preparation.
We had a few rainy days here which were a bit sad. I missed getting outside to walk. One day I strapped the baby in with the Moby wrap and did an old Walk Away the Pounds DVD. It was not as fun as outdoors but it was good to move. And the extra weight didn’t kill me either.
Zoe likes the walks just as much as I do, if not more. We went today and when we got home she was inconsolable…
She loves being on the move though!
Me elsewhere…I did a guest post for my favorite maternity workout wear company, For Two Fitness. Check them out and the post here.
Baby girl born 11/15/2012 at 6am. More to come, but I didn’t want to leave you hanging more than I already had!
Week 40 came and went with no baby and no power. We now have a small generator that we used to get some heat last night before going to bed. That was nice for us and the dogs. Our boxer refuses to stay under the blankets but is shivering, so we found her a sweater.
I took a week 40 picture, but it’s really dark! 40 came with a nor’easter and even darker skies. I have straight hair here because I had it done. I was avoiding it but it was great to not think about my hair for a few days without a shower at home. I’m curly now, but I may go back today.
I’ve been keeping up with workouts now that the gym is back open. I feel better when I workout, but people at the gym do look at me funny…especially when they hear my due date! But exercising the entire pregnancy has made everything so much easier, including getting through this power outage. I have been able to save gas by walking places, get out of the house and see the neighborhood, and get out of the house for something that makes me feel good, even now past my due date.
Tuesday, I took prenatal yoga at my usual place but with a different instructor. I enjoyed this class a lot too! I impressed myself in some poses and I continue to be thankful that I found this place. I was so disappointed to miss Saturday’s class because of the gas shortage, but I’m glad I was able to try Tuesday’s class.
Workout Monday – Lift and elliptical
Workout Tuesday – Prenatal Yoga
Workout Wednesday – Lift and elliptical
Workout Thursday – 3 walks…two outside, one at gym
Yep, I’m going to talk about the weather. It was so nice out this weekend. I got to pull out some summer maternity clothes for a last day out on Saturday and even Sunday was warmer than it has been.
I bought a few items to get me through a chilly fall but I don’t love much of it. I don’t want to buy much since I don’t have much longer to go and I’ve been keeping an eye out for sales. I found a pair of jeans that are good enough at Old Navy. They are fairly comfortable but not as flattering as I would like. I guess that is the most I can expect at almost 38 weeks! I also found a nursing/maternity shirt at target that is now my favorite. It even has a hood. I wish they had it in more colors so I could buy a bunch.
I’ve bought a few other fall items…leggings and long tops, a few other tops for jeans. But none of them are great. So if the weather wants to be a bit warmer, I’ll take it. Hopefully I can use what I have and do some creative layering to get me through the next few weeks.
The weekend happenings were a 1st birthday party, watching my husband compete in a duathlon and watching a bunch of football. My jersey is starting to reach a not fitting point, but at least now it’s “fitted” enough to make me look pregnant instead of like I’m wearing a tent!
Workout Saturday – Yoga and a walk
Workout Sunday – Turbofire Fire 45 EZ
Workout today – Elliptical and lift
Weeks that is! It seems that they are flying by. I celebrated my new week with some Turbo Jam, highly modified but still very fun.
I also got many things done today. Checking off my to do list is such a good feeling! I keep it on my phone (using the Awesome Note app) and set some things with an alarm and others without. One of the items with an alarm went off while I was on the phone with my mother and she made fun of me for having my to do list “talk” to me. Whatever gets it done works for me!
We are trying to get some baby stuff ready to go. Our crib is put together and has clean bedding on it. Babies R Us lost our dresser somehow and ordered it again, so the room still looks a little crazy. It will definitely help the organization once that is here. The dresser is the last big thing we need. Then we can decide if we want to keep a bookshelf that is in there, move clothes into drawers, and hopefully have less of a pile organization system.
Workout yesterday – Elliptical, lifting
Workout today – Turbo Jam Cardio Party 3
Workout today – yoga, walk (with a conference call)
Some days workouts just don’t work out. Today is one of those days.
I didn’t workout yesterday either, so it was a bad day to miss. I was trying to catch up on sleep this weekend, so I relaxed instead of popping out of bed to exercise. Then last night, I was up from 12:45 am – about 5 am. At 4:30 I decided to reset my alarm and skip working out in the morning.
Then I worked. Until about 30 minutes ago. My work computer is actually still doing work for me, but I don’t need to be there. I could workout now, but I want to go to bed early so I’d rather relax. In between work and now, I folded laundry, clipped coupons (and filed them) and got some paperwork together to look at. I’m sitting on the exercise ball instead of the couch, so I have that. And tomorrow I plan to workout in the morning and night. I can’t make it to yoga on Saturday, so I want to go tomorrow night and I still plan to do this morning’s workout tomorrow morning. Assuming I sleep!
We visited a daycare center today (as my “lunch”). It was definitely an option. I’m going to post a list of the questions we went in with this week/weekend. This was the second place we visited, and there were differences but we would feel comfortable with either. So now it’s decision making time. We shouldn’t need it until March, but I’d like to have a plan early.
Just for fun (and because I think he’s adorable), this is how my dogs were when I woke up yesterday. The pug looks super comfortable. doesn’t he? He’s looking at me like “take the picture already so I can go back to bed”.
