Time to finish up the P90X3 workouts! I am about done with the 90 days and have done even the transition week workouts a few times, so lets hear about them.
But first, MMX. How did I not do this write up along with the rest of block 2? I love this workout – no surprise there with my past kickboxing workout love. This is a martial arts inspired workout…punches, kicks, elbows and sprawls are the main moves, pieced together in different combinations.
There are four rounds (which mostly means four breaks!) of four exercises. Each exercise is done for 30 seconds per side. There are some moves I hadn’t seen before like a Superman Punch (hopping forward on one foot while punching with the opposite hand) and Gladiator (that I still need to watch to “get” – a hitch kick with a lunge and punch). Most of the rest are typical kickboxing combos and none are overly complicated (other than Gladiator, which is in the last exercise). I like that they are repeated for 30 seconds, so you can figure it out and repeat. As usual for these workouts, there isn’t really a preview of the exercises, and Tony and crew are on the same leg, not mirroring. Just things to keep in mind.
I still look forward to this workout each time it comes up on my schedule! I hate the sprawls, but they’re good for you!
Can you believe that August starts Friday?? I feel like summer is flying by! Whoosh and it’s gone!
As you may know, each month I run a free challenge on Facebook. I create a group, try to get you to finish out the month with us. August will be for arm exercises. And this time around, we’re adding weights! So here is our progression…
If you’d like to be added to the group, fill this out!
What do you have going on in August that is super exciting?
So many people have asked me great questions about the 3-Day Refresh! I wont answer all of them publicly, but this one has been asked often enough to warrant a video…Did I gain the weight back?
I’ve been continuing along on the 21 Day Fix nutrition plan and am almost done with P90X3, chugging right along to my more long term goals. That’s not to say there haven’t been a few indulgences, but I’ve been able to keep them small and far between. The Refresh really got me out of a mindset that I needed/deserved the treats. I need and deserve to fuel my body! What a concept!
How are you doing? It’s Sunday night, time to get set for the week! I’ll share a quick note for you…did you get yourself closer today?
If you haven’t heard yet, there’s a new 3 Day Refresh that came out. It’s a 3 day cleanse with shakes and some whole foods. I bought it, knowing that I would want to do it eventually and it came Friday!
I was trying to figure out when would be best to do the refresh, and Monday just kept talking to me. I wrote out a grocery list and decided to start tomorrow!
So, I plan to share it all…ups and downs and all arounds. I need to hit the food store for a few more things tomorrow, but I feel well prepped for this. I’m excited to see how it goes.
A big thing in when I started this was that I was still nursing every so often. Most people will say that breastfeeding and cleanses don’t mix. But it’s been so sporadic (I’m talking days between sessions) that I decided to go for this. I don’t know if anyone here will judge me for stopping (or for still nursing at almost 20 months) but that’s okay with me. I’m okay with it. Getting there took about a month of the sporadic nursing to accept that this time was ending.
And if you’re wondering, so far today was just a regular 21 Day Fix eating day. I didn’t decide to overeat and go crazy pre-refresh!
