We lost power but are hanging in there! I wrote things on paper by candle last night! Fun stuff. Stay safe!

Sandy
Let’s see what she has got for us! So far we still have electricity, so I have been doing laundry and have printed pictures. I’m keeping my phone and laptop charging. I made it to Trader Joe’s for a few items I thought we were better stocked on and a worker there yelled at me when I came in that I should stock up because they’re planning on closing…a few times in a row. I hardly think the people showing up at opening are the ones who need reminding!
We lose power on nice days, so I took a shower pretty early and didn’t workout today, but I figure I can use the rest day. My last was a week ago last Friday. The gym cancelled all classes and is closing at 1 today. I’m hoping that they reopen by Wednesday and that it’s okay to walk tomorrow at some point.
Good luck with the storm if you’re in Sandy’s path!
Did it!
I worked out each morning last week! I didn’t get up at 5 every day (every day but Friday) but I did get up in time to work out. First time since February. I’ve also kept the streak going by working out today and yesterday. Not bad for 38 weeks!
I am also now on maternity leave and getting some time to work on the list I’ve been putting off. Lots on that but I’m slowly chipping away! So far, we have a new camera, have registered for day care, lots of baby laundry is done and one set of curtains are ready to be hung. We also got ready for the hurricane that’s the talk of the town. Hopefully we wont get hit too hard!
They said on the news that this would be a more “complete” storm than Hurricane Irene. With that, we just had a bit of wind but then no power for a few days. I want to get some more laundry done before any power goes (some adult laundry too!) and it would be easier to do a few other things with power than without.
Also on my before baby list is to print out some photos. My aunt got me a photo album and I’ve been good at taking pictures but so not at printing. I know that if I wait, I’ll never do it. A lot of them will be the belly pics that I have posted here and some are from before I was showing – baby’s first concerts and trips to some other places. All good stuff. I’ll share any that look fun!

38’s a good week!
Well, I’m starting week 38 today, but still a good week so far. I did something I don’t think I have managed for my entire pregnancy…I woke up at 5 Mon-Wed and worked out. Usually if I’d made it to Wednesday, I had to sleep in. Most times it has been because of poor sleep, so I guess this also means I have slept alright this week. Maybe I can make it Mon through Fri!
This is also my last week of work before maternity leave. Knock on wood, but it has gone surprisingly okay. No major stresses which is always good! Friday is a half day for a doctor’s appointment, but I’ll likely work a bit more than half.
And of course there was the dresser yesterday! I updated the post with a picture today. There is still a lot to do, but pretty much everything we need is here. Just need to find some time. I don’t have any real signs of impending labor, so I should be able to have that after Friday.
Tonight, I am catching up on some computer stuff and hanging with my dogs. We are all on the same couch and occasionally they switch spots and I get a different one closest to me. Hopefully I get to bed early and wake up on time for the gym.
And since it is Wednesday, a picture for week 38…

Nice weekend
Yep, I’m going to talk about the weather. It was so nice out this weekend. I got to pull out some summer maternity clothes for a last day out on Saturday and even Sunday was warmer than it has been.
I bought a few items to get me through a chilly fall but I don’t love much of it. I don’t want to buy much since I don’t have much longer to go and I’ve been keeping an eye out for sales. I found a pair of jeans that are good enough at Old Navy. They are fairly comfortable but not as flattering as I would like. I guess that is the most I can expect at almost 38 weeks! I also found a nursing/maternity shirt at target that is now my favorite. It even has a hood. I wish they had it in more colors so I could buy a bunch.
I’ve bought a few other fall items…leggings and long tops, a few other tops for jeans. But none of them are great. So if the weather wants to be a bit warmer, I’ll take it. Hopefully I can use what I have and do some creative layering to get me through the next few weeks.
The weekend happenings were a 1st birthday party, watching my husband compete in a duathlon and watching a bunch of football. My jersey is starting to reach a not fitting point, but at least now it’s “fitted” enough to make me look pregnant instead of like I’m wearing a tent!

Customer Service
Today has shown a range of customer service from the bad, to mediocre, to excellent.
The bad – I wont name names, but it would be fairly easy to see who I’m speaking about my looking at old posts. We ordered baby room furniture on 9/25. Called to check on it the first time and part of the order was in. Called to check again (actually, there may have been another call in between) on 10/9 and were told they could not locate our dresser and would reorder it. Called to check today and it is no longer in stock and they do not know when it will be, possibly the beginning of November. This wouldn’t be as bothersome to me had they once called us to let us know that items were in or that they were having a problem. All conversations were initiated by us. The items were payed for back on 9/25 and they can’t even tell us that it will definitely be in again. Today, I was told they would see if they could get it for us online. I asked if she would call me back and let me know, and she replied something to the tune of “definitely” or “of course” but when my husband called later she said she was done with us after the last call. So disappointing!
We have now ordered a similar dresser through Amazon and will be getting our money back at the original store.
The mediocre is barely worth mentioning. We went for dinner and the waitress would drop off items and disappear. Everything my husband ordered was brought out incorrectly, and it took forever to find her to get it fixed!
The excellent was Beachbody. I had an issue with one of the Derm Exclusive products I ordered. I get a 90 day package of 7 items. One of the seven had a different consistency than my previous order. They sent me a new 90 day package of all items. And told me to keep the original package. As I would hate to have to go ship products back, just not having to re-pack and ship the items was great news. I would have been happy with just the one product that had the issue being sent out, but I received all seven. Amazing.
I wish more companies had better service. I love when I come across a company that surprises me. Even better when it is a company I choose to work with regularly.
Otherwise, I’m keeping busy! I went to an indoor cycling class on Monday night and I think the instructor was afraid I’d go into labor in class. I took it nice and easy and listened to my body. No jumps or sprints, but definitely a post-ride picture!
And a 37 week picture. Just three weeks until my due date!

Derm Exclusive – 90 days
It has actually been a bit more than 90 days since I’ve started using Derm Exclusive, but even the way I felt after a few weeks hasn’t changed. I still love it. I have had lots of complements on my skin, I feel that my skin tone is more even, and my makeup actually stays on my face.
Helping that might be that I don’t wear as much makeup because I don’t feel the need to. But when I do, it stays there. This is a new thing for me, especially through the summer.
I can’t rave about it enough. It is called anti-aging skincare, but I have found it to be good for my skin in general. No breakouts, good tone, less oily. Love it! If you want to purchase or get more information, you can find it here.
In other news, I got a flu shot yesterday. It was my first flu shot ever, but now wont be my last. My husband gets it each year so I probably should have in the past, but with the baby now it is highly recommended. My arm is sore, but otherwise I’m good.

Best Workout Ever!
I was talking to someone last night about fitness who thought his workout was the best ever. He’s not the first person I’ve spoken to that felt this way, and I’m sure he won’t be the last so no need for detail on his workouts.
There are a lot of workout plans out there. And a lot of methods to work your body. Everyone thinks that their way is the best way. Sure, it is the best way…for them.
The best workout for you is the one you will do! I love my Turbo…Jam, Fire, Kick because I find it fun and it is also an excellent workout. I would love it if everyone I knew tried it because I enjoy sharing it. But I realize that not everyone will love it as much as I do. That’s why other workouts exist.
This is part of the reason I became a coach. It makes me happy when I can help someone find a workout that they enjoy as much as I enjoy mine. I don’t only do Turbo type workouts. I also like to lift weights (yes, I actually like it), yoga, sometimes I find running enjoyable and many more. I also like trying new things to see if something surprises me.
I feel similarly about a lot of fitness related topics. The best time to work out is the time you will do it. The best time to drink Shakeology is the time it helps you the most. The best eating plan is the one you can stick with for the long haul.
So there’s my take on it all. To lighten it up and prove that I don’t always wear lounging pants and tank tops here is a belly picture from yesterday…36 weeks and 1 day. Happy Friday!

And 36…
Weeks that is! It seems that they are flying by. I celebrated my new week with some Turbo Jam, highly modified but still very fun.
I also got many things done today. Checking off my to do list is such a good feeling! I keep it on my phone (using the Awesome Note app) and set some things with an alarm and others without. One of the items with an alarm went off while I was on the phone with my mother and she made fun of me for having my to do list “talk” to me. Whatever gets it done works for me!
We are trying to get some baby stuff ready to go. Our crib is put together and has clean bedding on it. Babies R Us lost our dresser somehow and ordered it again, so the room still looks a little crazy. It will definitely help the organization once that is here. The dresser is the last big thing we need. Then we can decide if we want to keep a bookshelf that is in there, move clothes into drawers, and hopefully have less of a pile organization system.
